Week 1

Welcome to the first week of RESPIRA+. This week, we begin with foundational concepts of physical activity and mindfulness. You'll learn how movement can support your mental health, and how mindful awareness begins with simple breathing and attention to the body.

Yoga Postures

This week, we will review this series of postures in class to support at-home practice and strengthen the connection between breath, movement, and awareness.
These gentle, yoga-inspired movements help build strength, focus, and body awareness—from grounding like a mountain to opening the heart like an eagle.

Mindfulness Meditations

Throughout RESPIRA+, we use short, accessible mindfulness practices to help you slow down, reconnect with your breath, and strengthen your awareness, both in class and in your daily routine.

In class, you’ll be guided through grounding meditations that support relaxation and emotional balance.
At home, you’ll have simple mindfulness challenges to help you create space, set intentions, and practice presence in everyday moments.

In-Class Practice

Breathing Space 
A 3-step guided meditation to pause, check in with your body and mind, and return to the present moment with calm and clarity.

Lying Body Scan 
A calming practice that brings attention to each part of the body while lying down. Helps release tension and improve body awareness.

Mindfulness Challenge

Getting Ready Challenge 
Start your day or practice by setting up a quiet space and choosing a simple intention. This helps your mind associate your space with grounding

and focus.

3-Minute Breathing Space 
A short, guided check-in you can use anytime—before school, after a tough moment, or just to reset. Notice your breath, your body, and how you feel without judgment.
